The Helsington Foundation is a not-for-profit, private fund that aims to give young people the opportunity to broaden their horizons and achieve their full potential through the provision of unique and stimulating opportunities.
Since its inception, it has funded summer schools at Oxford University for high-performing teenagers from state schools and colleges and a pioneering programme to establish engineering as a challenging and rewarding career path.
Today – in partnership with Engineering UK, a like-minded and focused fund – it is driving an ambitious Schools Robotics Challenge to inspire the engineers of tomorrow. It is also supporting STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) learning in schools through the engineering engagement programme run by the Royal Academy of Engineering.
